Garden Observation Sheet
by Eric Gonzalez-Payne
The simplest sheet in the collection and one of the most used.
One patch of garden, ten minutes, and a page that asks what you can see, hear, smell and touch. Nothing else.
What it does is slow a child down. Left to themselves, most children pass through a garden. Given a page with boxes on it, they stop, and the stopping is the whole point.
Run it in the same spot several times across a term and the sheets become a record of change that nobody set out to make. That is how the longer observation work in the worksheet library begins.
