Six pairs this time instead of three, and two of them are close enough to be confusable.

This is the follow up sheet and it is meant to be run weeks after the first, once the easy pairs are automatic. The confusable pair is deliberate. Two plants that both help with skin, and the child has to remember which is which rather than reasoning it out.

That shift from reasoning to recall is a real developmental step and it is worth watching for.

The page has the six pairs, the pictures, and a note on which two to introduce last. If a child gets the confusable pair wrong repeatedly, drop back to five pairs rather than drilling. We drilled once. It produced a child who disliked the activity and still got it wrong.
