Water Pour for Thirsty Plants

Hand a toddler a jug with an inch of water in it and point at a plant. That is the whole setup.

What you are teaching is that plants need something, and that the child can provide it. That idea, that a living thing depends on you, is enormous at two years old and it arrives through the handle of a jug rather than through anything you say.

Use a jug the child can lift when full. We spent a term using ones that were too big and every session ended in a soaked shirt and a frustrated child.
