Waste Stream Redesign Audit
by Eric Gonzalez-Payne

Everything that leaves the site as waste, weighed and categorised over a week, then redesigned.
The redesign has to be implementable, which means it survives contact with the people who actually empty the bins. Consulting them is a required step and the reason most student proposals fail without it.
The page has the audit method, categorisation, a system map, and a redesign template with a consultation requirement. The best proposals we have seen were simple, cheap, and reduced the number of decisions a busy person has to make, which is a real design insight arrived at by fourteen year olds.
