This is where the rice thread pays off, because a student who has worked with rice since preschool has enough familiarity to ask a real question rather than a generic one. The best ones we have seen concerned spacing, water depth timing, and whether seedling size at transplant predicts final yield.

The page has the proposal template, the design checklist, a run log and a report frame. Proposals get reviewed and sent back if the design is weak, which is the most valuable part of the process.
