A claim from a trusted person can still be unsafe. A claim from an unreliable source can still be correct. Keeping the two axes apart is the skill.

It also carries the standing rule about natural not meaning safe, restated because it needs restating, and a short list of plants in the region that genuinely cause harm and are still widely recommended.
