Garden Sustainability Audit
by Eric Gonzalez-Payne

Water in, nutrients in, food out, waste out, and what leaks at each stage.
Audits are unglamorous and this one produces a real picture. Most school gardens import a great deal and export almost nothing useful, and seeing that laid out prompts sensible questions about closing loops.
The page has the audit categories, measurement methods for each, a summary table and an improvement plan. The improvement plan must be costed and prioritised. A list of everything that could be better is easy. Choosing the two things worth doing first is the actual work.
