Community Plant Story Interview Map
by Eric Gonzalez-Payne

Five interviews, then a map of who learned what from whom.
The map is the output and it shows something children have never considered, which is that knowledge has a shape and travels along family and neighbourhood lines rather than through institutions.
The page has the interview protocol, a mapping frame, and an analysis prompt. It also asks who is not on the map, which is a sharp question. Knowledge that only travels one way through one kind of person is knowledge at risk of disappearing, and grade five can see that without it being spelled out.
