Food Web in a Garden Ecosystem

A web, not a chain. Multiple arrows into and out of most things, which is messier and more accurate.

Grade five can handle the mess and should. Real webs do not resolve into neat levels, and the arguments about where to put an omnivore are the most productive part of the lesson.

The page has the web space, arrow conventions, level bands, and a species list built from their own surveys. There is also a removal question at the end, asking what happens if one node disappears, and the answer being complicated is the point rather than a failure of the sheet.
