Harvest Math and Storage Plan

You have this much rice. This many people eat this much a day. How long does it last, and where does it live until then.

Division with a real consequence. The storage half brings in a genuine tropical problem, which is that grain stored badly is destroyed by damp and insects within weeks.

The page has the calculation frames, a storage comparison of three methods, and a recommendation. It also includes the traditional raised granary design, which solves the damp problem elegantly and which children can see examples of across the region once they know to look for them.
