Campus Plant Helper Interview
by Eric Gonzalez-Payne

The groundskeeper knows more about your site than anyone and is almost never asked.
This sheet sends children to ask. What is hardest to grow here, what dies, what thrives, what has changed in ten years. The answers are specific to your site and are not in any book.
We have learned things about our own soil from these interviews that no adult on staff knew.
The page has the question set, note taking space, and a write up frame. It also has a short note on preparing the interviewee, which matters. An adult ambushed by eight year olds gives short answers. An adult told the day before what will be asked gives long, generous ones, and often shows them things.
