Rice Life Cycle Field Notes

Real field notes, kept properly, dated, with drawings.

The format matters here. Date, location, weather, what changed, a sketch. That is the format working scientists use and grade three can maintain it, especially if the notebook looks serious rather than decorated.

We use plain notebooks for exactly that reason.

The page provides the field note template to paste in or copy, plus the specific things to look for at each stage of rice. It also has the note that a full rice cycle takes roughly three to four months, so this runs across a term and needs to be started early. Starting it in week eight, as we once did, means finishing it in the holidays.
