Community Plant Story Match

Six short stories collected from people around the school, six plants.

The stories are real. We collected ours from the cook, two grandmothers, a groundskeeper and a neighbour, and the sheet includes a collection template so you can gather your own rather than using ours.

Using your own is much better. Children matching a story told by someone they know is doing something different from a comprehension exercise.

The page has our six as a fallback, the collection template, and the matching frame. Collecting takes an afternoon and produces material you will use for years. It also puts the school's adults into the curriculum, which changes how they talk about the garden.
