Balinese Plant Use Sort

Food, medicine, ceremony, building. Four categories, sixteen plants.

Ceremony is the category that does not appear in imported curricula and it matters here. Frangipani, banana leaf and pandan all carry ceremonial use across Bali and much of the region, and children see these plants used that way constantly without anyone naming it as a category of use.

Several plants belong in more than one column, which the sheet allows and which produces the best discussion.

The page has the four columns, the plant cards, and a note for teachers outside Bali on substituting local equivalents. The structure travels even where the specific plants do not.
