Planting Rice in Rows

Rows, spaced deliberately, measured and recorded.

Spacing has a reason and the reason becomes visible about four weeks later when the crowded row struggles. We plant one row correctly and one row far too close on purpose, which the sheet sets up, and then wait.

That wait is the hardest part of the lesson for the adult. Do not explain it in advance. The moment the class sees the difference themselves is worth four weeks of silence.
