Soak, sow, sprout, transplant. Four steps, recorded on the day each one happens rather than all at once.

Spreading a worksheet across two weeks is unusual at grade one and it is the point. The child writes step one, puts the sheet away, and comes back. Holding a task open across days is a real skill and this is a gentle version of it.

Soaking is the step nobody expects. Rice seed soaked overnight sprouts noticeably faster and children can see the difference if you set up an unsoaked control, which the sheet suggests.
